Apothecary Hippie Goo contains the classes of Hippie Goo that I make for medicinal purposes--Bumps and Bangs, and Comfrey Shea.
Both Hippie Goos are made with shea butter, which is a natural extract of the African karite nut--it is a solid oil that melts at skin temperature. Shea butter has a number of uses all on its own, including a natural SPF (of about 4, so don't turn in your sunblock yet!) and a magnificent moisturizer for skin--studies are also indicating that it heals common skin conditions including dry skin, eczema, and psoriasis.
Comfrey Goo is made from shea butter and infused oils of comfrey, with other essential oils added for additional healing power. In the middle ages, comfrey was known as "bone-knit", "heal-all" and several other names that attest to its universal healing ability. Comfrey is an ugly, hairy green herb that often grows as a weed; the leaves are used in infusions, the root for other purposes. My comfrey goo was created specifically for skin conditions both plant and animal, and visible results occur within days.
Bangs & Bruises is made with arnica, nettle, and comfrey oils, as well as shea butter. Arnica is an herb that has been used for centuries both internally and externally for reducing swelling, bruising, and sprains--and is another internal/external remedy. It works astoundingly fast; when applied to bruising, it reduces swelling within a day and reduces bruising; if applications continue, it cuts healing time from a significant knock to less than half.
