So what the heck is a jewelry maker doing mucking around with soap and goo?

The answer goes back to my being a Yankee, really, and searching for the most sensible option to deal with issues for myself and those around me. I have a love of kitchen chemistry and herbs that was ingrained in me by my mom; I hate to see anyone (including myself!) suffer, and over the years the home remedies I've used for my family and friends have been so useful I couldn't bear to not pass them on.

Currently, Antika Nueva carries soap--handmade, cold-process, lye-based soap and Hippie Goo, both the Apothecary and the Just for Fun lines. The Apothecary products are a must for any first aid kit; the Just for Fun lines are lovely, heavy-duty moisturizers with unique scents derived from essential oils and the finest of fragrance oils. Coming soon I hope to have an entirely "green" line of soaps--Black Soap (brown, really) made from byproducts of biodiesel production. Recycling makes good Yankee sense, too!
